Singapore wage council to urge pay cut on SARS-affected companies

SINGAPORE-Singapore’s National Wages Council is expected to urge a wage cut for workers in companies reeling from the impact of the SARS outbreak when it releases its guidelines this week. The Straits Times newspaper reported.
Separately, national carrier Singapore Airlines Ltd. has proposed a plan to implement non-restorable wage cuts of between 15 percent and 28 percent to its staff unions. The Business Times newspaper reported.
